My life has gotten so heavy
Over many a year and day.
Things I thought I knew for sure
Only seems to get in my way.
It only takes a moment
To change the way things seem.
An action undone or a word unsaid
Could have saved my dream.
I searched deep inside my soul and heart
To find what had been lost
And realized the road I followed
Had too big a cost.
So once upon a teardrop,
I decided to move up
And build a life meant for me.
Filling up my cup.
Some things had to take second place
To let my spirit soar.
To let my talents take me
Where I've never been before.
Happiness is knowing
Who you are within.
To have a perfect ending
